DelTests sprouted from an experience.
Story time!
It was an incident that occurred in an MNC I worked for; my Team leader at the time had to go on leave, so an acting Team leader was chosen within the team itself. However, one employee (let's call her Jane) in particular could not digest the fact that someone else younger (alias, Rose) with fewer years of experience and time spent in the company was chosen.
This led to a lot of miscommunication and hostility towards Rose; coupled with a high backlog, Rose started to burn out.
She reached out to the manager but no solution was found — or rather, he refused to see the problem itself.
Weeks later, Rose suffered a stroke leading to a short-term memory loss.
Without denying the fact that Rose had medical complications that led to her stroke, it was without a doubt that stress had triggered and worsened her condition.
After the incident, several questions kept popping up: Jane felt that the decision of promoting Rose was biased and preferential. If the promotion was based on results, would Jane have felt and reacted the same way towards Rose? If Rose had better stress tolerance, perhaps she could have delayed the inevitable? If the manager had adequate emotional intelligence, could this whole mess have been avoided?
All questions led to one solution: soft skills! With the necessary soft skills, the damage could have been minimised and could have fostered a better workplace culture. This is one of the many incidents that could have been avoided if proper employee training was provided.
Thus, DelTests emerged; we carefully selected a range of criteria that we deemed to be useful in the workplace and created a test. Results obtained may be used to provide Employee Welfare by helping employees grow as individuals and improve their soft skills.
